The media all knows the election is over, but there's only so many ways they can describe how John McCain's campaign is going and what his prospects for winning are.
The New York Times today goes with "increasingly dire."
First Read goes with "running out of time."
The Los Angeles Times decides it's an "uphill slog."
The Arizona Republic goes with "chances appear dim," and the "political vultures are circling."
Even The Corner knows what's going on, with Rich Lowry taking a break from, uh, enjoying Sarah Palin speeches to call McCain's chances "grim."
But there's still eight days left in this thing. The media don't like writing the same thing day after day, but McCain's prospect don't seem to be in flux. So how should the media describe his campaign this week?
